We occasionally have prototype sales. Perfectly good, functional lights at unbeatable prices. They might be cosmetically a bit rough around the edges, and we probably won't be making more of them.
This grow light consists of:
6 x 3000K 80 CRI Samsung LT-QB22A strips, On a 93% efficient LG Innotek 150W constant current driver
That's 480 x LM301B diodes total.
This fixture runs each strip at 21.6W, which is just above the nominal wattage of 20W per strip. At 20W, the 3000K LM301B LEDs get a solid 187lm/W (173lm/W system efficacy). It's very efficient for a 3000K light. Cool to the touch.
Reasons why this is a prototype:
- 3000K strips are more suited for flowering, but the Samsung Q-series is not ideal for flowering, because their density is relatively low. They would need to be run at about 10cm from the canopy, to get flowering level intensity above 400 PPFD.
- The LG Innotek drivers seem pretty solid, but we probably won't use them regularly.
- We tried some black paint on the frames, with 'hmm' results.
